Flavio Esposito, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the CS Department and a Fellow of the Research Institute at SLU. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science at Boston University in 2013, and his MS in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Florence, Italy. His main research interests include the intersection of computer networks and artificial intelligence, network virtualization, and cyber-physical systems. Prior to joining SLU, Flavio worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Exegy, an high-frequency trading company in St.Louis, MO, at Alcatel-Lucent, Italy, at Bell Laboratories, NJ, at Raytheon BBN Technologies, MA, at EURECOM, France, and at the Center for Wireless Communications, Oulu, Finland. He is recipient of several research awards, including five from the National Science Foundation. In 2021, he received the Comcast Innovation Award and the Outstanding Graduate Mentoring Faculty Award from the School of Engineering at SLU.
